Overview
Lobly Arts Studio is the home of Lorraine O'Brien - textile and visual artist, it is a place to experience exquisite artworks involving textures and colours.
I am an artist, living on the beautiful southwest coast of Victoria, close to Warrnambool, with my home and studio overlooking the Logans Beach Southern Right Whale nursery; where each winter these amazing animals come to give birth to their calves.
This is the showcase for my creative activities. Here you will find textile art - weaving, felting, silk painting, textile sculpture, knitting, wearable art and handmade jewellery. Everything I create is individually hand crafted with love and attention to detail. You will also find visual art - painting, drawing, photography.
If you are the adventurous type you might wish to learn some of these skills yourself. There are workshops available in most topics. You can book a workshop or art retreat for yourself or with a friend or partner. Here you will be able to unwind and experience the glorious and inspirational location overlooking the ocean, whilst learning new skills and having lots of fun. Workshops are available on request and there is no minimum number required. You can learn how to create felt and felted garments, how to make mosaics, how to spin, how to knit and make yourself a pair of funky socks or beanie, how to weave and make a handwoven scarf in one weekend, how to create exquisite little figurines from wire and fabric, or how to enjoy your camera and take better photos.
