Celebrating 125 Years of Collecting for the Warrnambool Region.

Warrnambool Art Gallery

It's the heady days of 1886. Doc Holiday and Wyatt Earp are fresh from a gun fight with the Clanton Gang at the OK Corral: John Pemberton begins to sell Coca Cola as a patent medicine: Karl Benz drives the first automobile, around Mannheim, Germany and

Joseph Archibald, a retired Police Sargent, establishes the Warrnambool Museum and Art Gallery.

With almost 2,000 artworks, ranging from European Salon Paintings of the 1800's, Colonial Artworks and Indigenous artefacts: to the Melbourne Modernists of the 1940's and Contemporary Art: the Warrnambool Art Gallery has - for the past 125 years - facilitated extraordinary experiences for audiences through its Collection and an inspired program in and beyond the Gallery.

To our Founders, Artists, Funders, Patrons, Friends and Community, thank you for 125 years of support!
